Happy 70th

Among the members of the U S Army preparing to head to Europe in the summer months of 1944 was "Red," my dad.

He had met Dora and on this day they got married.

They had two sons. They were only married just shy of 18 years when Dora died of cancer.

"Red" died a little less than three years later.

My wife and I (as well as my brother and his wife) have been married more than twice as long as they were.

But on this date, 70 years ago, they started.

Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad.
