Seventh Week Theme: Reflection and Prayer

The unexamined life is not worth living.
--Socrates
Can't get any more basic than that. Without reflection (as I see it) life is less than it can be.

Reflection is this week's theme is the 7th daily theme for the Attention and Interpretation course I am taking. It is led by Mayo Clinic MD, Amit Sood and his book, Train Your Brain....Engage Your Heart....Transform Your Life: A Course in Attention & Interpretation Therapy (AIT) (Amazon link) Reflection and prayer is to look back from day 7 at the week past.
  • Where I have been?
  • What have I experienced?
  • What grace and hope and love have I received - and given?
  • Where to now?

Some may see this as the Tenth Step of AA- continuing to take personal inventory. Actually it's the other way around. Step 10 is putting this idea of reflection into active practice.
The unexamined life is not worth living.
Without reflection we miss so much going on around us and within us and at those places where the two come together- our attention and mindfulness.
