TV History
As I commented the other week I have been reading David Bianculli's book on the Smothers Brothers. It is a trip down memory lane in many ways and a great vision of what was going on behind the scenes at one of the truly ground-breaking and revolutionary TV shows of the mid-60s. Thanks to the wonders of You Tube, many of the skits and performances from the show are available. I think I will probably post some of them over the next weeks so that the younger generation can see them and My Generation can relive them.
Which was a very poor segue into this clip. It was the amazing performance of The Who before they were big and a raucous, explosive performance. Drummer Keith Moon had bribed a stagehand to put explosives in his drum and well- everyone was surprised. Warning- it is loud and over-modulated, but it is The Who.
