Michael Spencer, 1956-2010

The blogosphere has lost one of its finest spiritual voices. Michael Spencer, known and read by devoted fans as The Internet Monk.

He challenged and chided and generally had a good time sharing and living in what he called the "Post-Evangelical Wilderness." He set many a standard for Christian blogs- and few of us can match his wit, his insight, his dedication to the job of being a blogger. Even when you didn't agree with him, he was worth the read.

He got sick last year around Thanksgiving. It was found that he had cancer and after some treatment, he decided that it was time to stop. He has gone home.

Well done, good and faithful servant. Many thanks.

Our prayers go to his family, knowing their life will be missing someone special.

Yeah, Michael was always a good read, it appears a lot of younger ministers really identified with him.
We have had some terrific online friends haven't we?

His voice will be missed.

Blog on!
