News Burnout

Boy have I gotten a newsburn (like a sunburn but worse) in the past week. The Convention, part I; McCain and Palin, part I; Gustav and New Orleans; The Convention, part II; McCain and Palin, part II. Hour after hour they talk; hour after hour they analyze; hour after hour- noise... noise... more noise.

In addition, as I have said before I don't want this to be solely a political blog, although obviously I do have my political opinions.

So today I am writing about nothing again.

Nothing.

Nada.

The problem is- it makes sense to me.

We're getting old my friend. I remember when nothing burned you out until 4 AM. Like our election coverage in 1968: that's about the time we went off the air (who in the world would have been listening?) I remember you did an admirable and professional job on the air of hiding your disappointment at the apparent outcome. Me? I was a Republican, but I was more interested in being on the radio than who won. Today, I'm interested in my grandchildren and how soon I can retire and start the next part of my career.
