The Balcony is Closed
If you are younger that 33, you have never known life without Two Thumbs Up (or down) the trademark of Roger Ebert and his two hosts, Gene Siskel (the first) and now Richard Roeper. For all these years we have been given high-quality insight into movies and reviews we could trust. Sometimes we could even tell if we would disagree with their reviews simply by the way they described the film.
Well, it was announced this week that it was about to end- at least in the form we have known. Roger has posted on his Journal some thoughts on what all this has meant to him. He even posted two old videos of he and Siskel riffing on each other while recording show promos. If language doesn't bother you, they are hilarious.
All of us who love movies are losing a great resource and fellow movie lovers.
