A Walk in the Park

Riverbank at Whitewater State Park, MN
Seems like last Sunday was a remarkable day in many ways. Yesterday I talked about the worship service at our little country church along the edge of the cornfields. Well, it's actually more on the edge of a geological marvel in southeastern Minnesota- Whitewater State Park.

From Wikipedia:
Whitewater State Park is a Minnesota state park in Winona County in the southeastern blufflands area of the state. The 2,700 acres park features scenic overlooks and excellent trout fishing in the spring fed Whitewater River and Trout Run Creek. It has about 300,000 visitors annually, and is located 7 miles north of St. Charles on Minnesota State Highway 74 which runs through the park.

The park is in its second year of rebuilding after some devastating floods in August of 2007. I spent part of the afternoon first driving around some of the area then walking in a small part of the park on a remarkably gorgeous late spring day. Talk about the presence of God's Spirit!
