Just for Some Saturday Fun

An incomparable scene from Jerry Lewis in The Errand Boy. One of the great comedy/music scenes as Jerry pantomimes to Count Basie's Blues from Hoss' Flat.

Have some fun on this Saturday afternoon.

In Memoriam: David Frost

Comedian, writer, journalist, game show host Sir David Frost (1939 - 2013) died last week. Best known for his interviews with Richard Nixon which later was portrayed in the movie Frost/Nixon, some of us remember first being introduced to his wit in pre-Monty Python style comedy on That Was The Week That Was (TW3). Here's a clip from the BBC version of the show. You can see all the elements that would become the Monty Python style already at work:

It was the atmosphere into which Tom Lehrer could truly get satirical (and sarcastic):

And of course from his Nixon interviews. A great achievement.

RIP: David Frost

She Says It So Well

Chonda Pierce is a Christian comedian who uses her comedy and personality to make a difference and pull you into a different way of thinking. (Actually, that's what any good comedy should do!)

Here are both parts of her story of "Rehab and Recovery" which are about what the church is to be, more than they are about the specifics of her depression. She is a gutsy lady and stops us in our tracks.
