Wintertime

Farm
Admittedly it doesn't look like this around here.

Yet.

But today is the first day of meteorological winter.

December 1.

I wish that meant that the real start of Spring would be on March 1, but around these here parts that would be insanity to even expect.

The autumnal season was a good one, but now we get ready for the long slow slide down and back out.

So here are three quotes to get the season going....

Winter is the season in which people try to keep the house as warm as it was in the summer, when they complained about the heat.
~Author Unknown

The color of springtime is in the flowers, the color of winter is in the imagination.
~Terri Guillemets

O, wind,
If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?
~Percy Bysshe Shelley
