A Christmas Story- for 25 Years

Yes, for 25 years Ralphie has been warned that he would shoot his eye out while Dad mourns the leggy lamp. It started out small. No one paid much attention to it. But it soon began to gain support.

As an old fan of Jean Shepherd from his days on WOR in New York, I saw the movie and loved it. It had that unique style that Shep developed over those years that hooked you by his writing, his story-telling and his voice.

Then they began playing it on TV and the rest is history. So take some time and remember the fun of Red Ryder BB guns, post-war Americana, and the ability to pull Christmas out of dysfunction. TBS will have their normal 24-hours of A Christmas Story from 8:00 pm (ET) Christmas Eve through 8:00 pm (ET) Christmas Day.
