Politics Trumps Baseball

According to a press note I saw over the weekend, Major League Baseball has agreed to delay the start of a World Series Game 6, if needed, by 8 minutes. The reason- a half-hour of TV time that the Obama campaign wants to buy on several networks- including Fox- on Oct. 29.

Just when I thought it was safe to watch a baseball game.

BTW, my guess (hope?) is that Game 6 and Game 7 will both be needed for either of the Series teams to take it. And, I will go with the Phillies in 7. But don't quote me on that.
