What is Happening? Does Anyone Really Know?

I'm at a loss. My gut tells me that the economy and the Congress are flying blind. My senses tell me that this is dangerous. My ears tell me that John McCain is even more lost than the rest of us. He actually blamed Obama and his compatriots for the problem after the defeat. Yet 67% of the Republicans voted against the bill while 60% of the Democrats voted for the bill.

The Dow plummets. We get lots of analysis. And opinions. And politics. And financial shock waves, potentially all over the world.

People are angry, too. Not over the events of today, but about the way the problem happened and how many who are responsible will remain wealthy while others suffer. And about the fact that banks lent money to people who shouldn't have gotten it to buy houses that were too expensive. The rest of us suffer.

We are in a quandary. We are at a potentially history-shifting moment.

Or maybe not.

I don't know. And I am scared that no one else does either including the ones who are supposed to be leading us.
