Legacy Reborn

Skimming the "new releases" at one of the online bookstores I came across this line in the blurb for a new recording:

[this recording is] worthy of their boy-band legacy.

It is, of course, the new CD by, The New Kids On the Block.

My first reaction was that this contained a new oxymoron, i.e. boy-band legacy.

Their legacy.

Legacy is defined as:

something transmitted by or received from an ancestor or predecessor or from the past

Well, maybe the reviewer was being cynical. Their legacy? Lots of screaming 10-year old girls. I know. My daughter was there at the Kohl Center in Milwaukee, as was I. You don't allow a 10-year old to go by herself. The earplugs were quite useful. Not for the music but the screams.

Well, I guess if we wait long enough even boy bands will get back together for reunion tours.
