Football Predictions
With absolutely no credentials or particular ability I feel compelled to make the following predictions based on nothing other than wishful thinking and listening to Sports Talk Radio in New York City last week:
The Green Bay Packers will end the season with a 10 - 6 record;
The New York Jets will end the season with an 8 - 8 record.
Brett Favre (remember him?) will get eaten alive by the New York media because, believe it or not, he's not a miracle worker and didn't have a team that was able to pull it all together.
This all assumes that the so-called Madden Curse which has historically afflicted the player on the cover of the football game will not affect Brett. If it does, well, all bets are off.
Now, with all that said, we breathe a sigh of relief and move on to other things and wait for the future to become the past.
Actually, after finishing what I wrote above I made a comment to my wife about hos crazy we Americans are for sports. Even in New York City a football trade was top story. She reminded me that the same is true in most of the rest of the world with another sport also known in those countries as football. We call it soccer. So perhaps it is a human tendency and has little to do with being an American.
That makes be feel better- and a lot less guilty about paying all that attention to Brett.
