The Start of a New Curse

According to the news yesterday (and on the Major League Baseball Website) an attempt at jinxing the Yankees was foiled. It seems a prankster construction worker buried a Red Sox jersey in the new Yankee stadium being built across from the original. Not able to keep his mouth shut, the news got out and the Yankees spent five hours tearing up some of the concrete in a service corridor.

Talk about superstition. Although it doesn't say it in the MLB story it might have been an attempt at a jinx. Those Sox fans lived all those years with the so-called Curse of the Bambino. Now, I wonder if the baseball ghosts and gods will retaliate and send the Sox into another long-term jinx? Well, the jersey was a David Ortiz jersey. He went 0-4 on Saturday and lowered his batting average through 12 games to an awful .070.
