News We Didn't Need

As each week moves by we can always be assured that we will hear or read news that we didn't need to know. Take for example:

New Kids on the Block to Reunite
Well, perhaps we can be glad it isn't the 1910 Fruitgum Company that's getting back together.

Then there was this headline that tore apart most of the standard wisdom on dieting.
Idea All Wet: You Don't Need 8 Glasses of Water Daily (LiveScience)
Truly devastating. Especialy for the Big Bottling Companies who have made such a killing on bottling tap water and selling it for more than we pay for gasoline.

Then there's the news we didn't need to be told- perhaps because most of us already knew it.
Poll: 81 Percent Think US on Wrong Track
Which reminds me of a great Wil Rogers quote which we probably do need to hear:
Even if you are on the right track you will still get run over if you are standing still.
Another non-news, news item reflected what no one else found surprising when the Iraqi forces made their offensive last week.
Timing, weaknesses in Iraqi offensive surprised Bush administration (Yahoo! News)
Here's one that at least I find worthy of knowing:
Sleep more to slim down, scientists say
And finally one that the women in the audience already knew- and the men would deny.
Men Create More Housework for Women (LiveScience)
They tell us that women have an extra seven hours of work when they get married and men save an hour. Which means, I guess, that we men just don't do those extra six hours before we're married. And with that, I will plead the 5th and get out of here.
