And I Quote...
Ah, yes. Time to sit back and enjoy the sharp wit and insight of others. What better place to start than to get ready for tomorrow's Gospel lesson for the first Sunday of Lent. Here's one from a sharp wit- and much more- actress, Mae West:
"I generally avoid temptation unless I can't resist it."Just keep that in mind before tomorrow!
Then the late English racer Doug Larson weighs in from another angle- and subject- altogether:
"The cat could very well be man's best friend but would never stoop to admitting it."The author of the next quote speaks of what he knows as he is perhaps the most often quoted wit in history. Just call him Anonymous:
"Write a wise saying and your name will live forever."American magician and professional comedy writer Robert Orben gets me political, at least for a moment:
"Illegal aliens have always been a problem in the United States. Ask any Indian."Finally the amazing Spanish painter Salvador Dali with a quote that I have on a mug (in the original Spanish). It just sounds so right!
"There is only one difference between a madman and me. I am not mad." (Not my translation.)To which I simply add an Amen!
["La Ășnica diferencia entre un loco y yo es que yo no estoy loco."]
