Quotes for a Cold January Tuesday
It's been a while since I skimmed my quotations list. So, as we near the middle of January, here's a potpourri of different quotes from different people:
I'll start with phenomenal actor Katharine Hepburn reflecting on what she did so well. Not a bad place to start after yesterday's Golden Globes non-event press conference:
"Acting is the most minor of gifts and not a very high-class way to earn a living. After all, Shirley Temple could do it at the age of four."Welsh Labour politician Aneurin Bevan reflects on his own profession and those around him who may not have been willing to take a stand.
"We know what happens to people who stay in the middle of the road. They get run over."Rocker Marilyn Manson, who has been accused of corruption of morals and bad music reflects on the times which may not be a-changin'.
"Times have not become more violent. They have just become more televised."Noelie Altito, seems to have lots of links to this quote but I can't find out who he is. Which I guess is okay since he's just famous for being quoted. This one doesn't seem to have any purpose to put here other than it makes common sense.
"The shortest distance between two points is under construction."Then there's Solomon Short. Again, I have no idea who or why or what is a Solomon Short. But for my political statement for today, this quote makes the grade.
"The only winner in the War of 1812 was Tchaikovsky"But you can't quote me.
