Halloween or Not

  • Controversial.
  • Witches flying across the sky.
  • An excuse to get drunk.
  • Satan's day.
  • Black cats.
  • Trying to co-opt the pagan religions.
  • Candy.
  • Jack-o-lanterns.
I have no idea anymore what to think about Halloween. It's easy to get upset at it and it's pagan religious side, and witches, etc. It's easy to get cute when the little children come to the door looking for candy.

So I don't think about it anymore. This is actually the third year in a row where I have been at work during trick-or-treat hours so I don't have to think about it.

Perhaps this has lost any positive (All Saints' Day Vigil) or negative (pagan) significance and is just another excuse for a party. I think I am at a point where I don't care. At least this year.

I read about someone giving out candy while dressed as Martin Luther to give a nod to Reformation Day...
