Wordplay
It took me awhile to find it. Only Blockbuster had it in stock, but it was worth the search. This documentary from last year is a crossword puzzler's delight. You get to see Will Shortz (NYT editor) editing a puzzle. You get to hear such famous crossword fans as Bill Clinton, John Stewart, and Yankees pitcher Mike Mussina discussing their passion. You watch a puzzle being constructed. Then, to top it all off, you have all the tension and excitement of the Crossword Puzzle Championship in Stamford, Connecticut.

Can you ask for more? My heart wouldn't have been able to stand it.

For the rest of you who have never been hooked by crosswords I guess it would still be interesting. (Then why wasn't it nominated for a best documentary?) You may not be able to understand the true fanatics but at least you can have hope when you watch a 20-year old (yes, barely dry behind the ears) go for the championship. Our young people do offer us hope after all.
