You Say It's Your Birthday
My birthday has been this week. Add another candle to the cake and hope it doesn't contribute to global warming. So I found some quotes that I thought fit the occasion of growing older with some grace...

"Good advice is something a man gives when he is too old to set a bad example."
--Francois de La Rochefoucauld
Well, that's about right. Only I think one actually gets more subtle in one's bad example.
"Wisdom is what's left after we've run out of personal opinions."
--Cullen Hightower
Hmmm. Perhaps that's why so few ask for my advice. I haven't yet learned the secret of keeping those opinions out of the way.
"Let not the sands of time get in your lunch."
--National Lampoon
[grin]

Oh, it's also the birthday this week of Louis Armstrong (1901-1971), jazz trumpeter par excellence!
