Just doing some news surfing and came across the news from last week that I somehow missed that Maynard Ferguson, trumpet player extraordinaire, died last Wednesday at age 78. His soaring high notes that just screamed and flew like rockets made his playing style one of a kind. Those heavenly jam sessions are going to be a lot different now.
