What Is It Good For?
War. It's screaming from the front page. Now we have things falling apart in the Middle East. Hezbollah and Hamas and Israel. Throwing missles and bullets and death back and forth across the borders. No one is innocent. Everyone is guilty. You capture a couple soldiers KNOWING, absolutely KNOWING that Israel will respond.

When all you have at your disposal after 58 years of fighting is a BIG HAMMER - well, you use the hammer. Hamas and Hezbollah KNOW that. They have to. Israel has never, ever simply responded gently. So Hezbollah provoked KNOWING that Israel would respond this way. If I knew it sitting here in the American midwest, they knew it in the Middle East.

Everyone is guilty. Everyone is torn apart by war. It doesn't matter whether it's a good war, a bad war, a war of democracy, or a war against tyrrany. It tears you apart as people, as fighters, as nations. It makes the world a less than safe place for all of us.

War
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again
War
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing

War
It's nothing but a heartbreaker
War
Friend only to the undertaker
War is the enemy of all mankind
The thought of war blows my mind
Handed down from generation to generation
Induction destruction
Who wants to die
--as performed by Edwin Starr and Bruce Springsteen
