How True!
Randy, at Upward Way Press, has posted a great quote he found from Dave Faulkner.

It is not the church of God that has a mission in the world but the God of mission who has a church in the world.
Now, step back a few feet and think about it again.
It is not the church of God that has a mission in the world but the God of mission who has a church in the world.
It's like those trick pictures that when you look at it one way you see one thing, then shift your vision a little and you see something else. That's what that quote does for me. It causes a shift in vision. All of a sudden I see something that wasn't there before and it gives me a whole new starting point for what it is the church is.

I know we all might come at the idea of what that mission is that God is all about from different places. That may be okay as long as we focus on what the God of mission is all about. Not on what our mission is or if that mission is all about !ME! No, what is it that God wants to happen in the world. Then maybe we need to be about that mission.

So, one more time for good measure:
It is not the church of God that has a mission in the world but the God of mission who has a church in the world
