Station # 9: Jesus' Third Fall
When I chose to do the odd-numbered Stations this week, I should have looked more closely. Three of the seven stations I chose are Jesus falling. It was Station 3 and then 7 and now 9. At first I wanted to go back and change my mind, pick something else. How can one write three times about the same thing. Jesus falls down. Then he falls again. And now again. Were these just meant to be pauses in the station- pauses without the intensity that has happened already- and is about to happen again?
Then I realized that there is something here that is trying to catch my attention. The first came in the picture used here to illustrate this Station. It raised all the social justice issues that these stations bring up in my mind. It brings me back to the misuse and abuse of one person by another who is in a position of power. The whole thing on this long walk to Calvary is that it is an all too common occurrence in all too many parts of the world. It matters not what the issue is when it is an issue of justice. It is about humanity and taking care of brothers and sisters.
I continued to free associate. But that took me where I really didn't want to go. We, as humans, have a fatal flaw.
All fall.
Sooner or later, we all fall.
And we all fall because we have all Fallen. The Fall is the Achilles Heel of our existence. The Fall is where we humans first tried to take over the knowledge and power of being like God. What is happening here, this week, is that we are walking with Jesus as he becomes The Answer to The Fall. Yes, he keeps falling down. Is it symbolic? No, not in the reality of that first Good Friday. It was what happens when burdened with a Cross.
But it is a wake-up reminder through meditating and pondering. I, too, have fallen. Not because of what I do, but because of who I am. When my life feels tedious and torn and all things are falling apart, here is Jesus.
Fallen.
So that one day I can stand.

I have been following a site now for almost 2 years and I have found it to be both reliable and profitable. They post daily and their stock trades have been beating
the indexes easily.
