A Project Off the Ground
I'm excited. I went to a printer yesterday to begin the final stages of publishing my own book. From 1989 through 2003 I wrote a yearly Christmas Eve story. It became a tradition for me and the congregation back in Wisconsin and I continued it in Minnesota was well. There were a number of attempts to get it published, but to no avail.
Well, with the ease and cost of digital printing - that is going to change this fall. I have put the stories all together along with a few reflections on events that apply and it will be available this October. Prices and information are still up in the air, but it will finally be in print.
Yay!
Maybe it will be the start of a whole new career? But that doesn't really matter. It is neat to think I will be able to share these stories that have meant so much to me and others over the years. Maybe it has something to do with what I posted yesterday from the Neruda poem. The writer's obligation is to do what he or she can to set us all free from whatever it is that imprisons us. Christmas is the start of the Christian version of that.
Neat!
