Postcards from the East
Even with the back problems which slowed me down in our recent trip to New York, I still managed to get some new pictures. Well, some of them are pictures of the same old, same old, but in New York, it's always something new.
I miss the Twin Towers for a lot of reasons, but they were never truly THE New York skyline. After all they were only 30 years old. There is still something about that spire of the Empire State Building, even when it is just barely poking between the Times Square buildings. That is New York!
There's always something happening along Broadway. I have no idea where the rest of the wedding party might be, but the bride and groom are heading into Times Square. And no, they didn't get into -or out of- that horse drawn carriage in front of them.
I know this looks like something I might have taken in Spain, but it is Teddy Roosevelt's statue in front of the American Museum of Natural History/Hayden Planetarium, riding boldly and carrying a big bird stick.
Street Theater is always fun. This "troupe" was actually being quite "R" rated and having a good time spoofing "W". Until the NYPD came along and told them had to move on. Pull out. Go home. Hmmmm. Interesting idea.
