Three Biggies for the Twins
Congratulations to Justin Morneau for being named the American League MVP. That means three BIG awards have gone to the Twins this year:

  • Batting Champion: Joe Maurer
  • Cy Young Award: Johann Santana
  • MVP: Justin Morneau
Great year with a young team. Looking forward to next year. Will it finally be the Twins year again?

I'm Glad He Lived Long Enough
The great director Robert Altman died Monday at age 81. From M*A*S*H in 1970 through A Prairie Home Companion in 2006 (not to mention lots of TV shows in the 50s and 60s) he was a groundbreaking director. I am glad he lived long enough to finish the work with Garrison on PHC-The Movie. He was the perfect director for a Garrison Keillor movie. Here's what Garrison had to say.

CNN Tops Fox On This One
Here's the headline at Media Matters:
CNN's [Glenn] Beck to first-ever Muslim congressman: "[W]hat I feel like saying is, 'Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies' "
That "first-ever Muslim congressman is of course, Keith Ellison from the 5th District in Minnesota. It wasn't even a close race despite some questionable tactics by others in the race. If I lived in that District I would be offended that Glenn Beck not only challenged Ellison, but he was challenging those who elected him as well.
