Some Saturday Quotes
These quotes have a general political theme to them this time around.

First, from former President Richard M. Nixon, a quote that belongs in the "Takes One to Know One" category:

"Sure there are dishonest men in local government. But there are dishonest men in national government too."
---------------------------------------------
While we're back in the 50s and 60s, here's one from two-time Democratic presidential candidate, Adlai E. Stevenson Jr.who makes what probably sounded like a good deal:
"I have been thinking that I would make a proposition to my Republican friends... that if they will stop telling lies about the Democrats, we will stop telling the truth about them."
---------------------------------------------
Political philosopher Hannah Arendt makes one of those truly "it's so obvious we don't realize it until it's too late" kind of statements.
"The most radical revolutionary will become a conservative the day after the revolution."
---------------------------------------------
And finally, back a century and a half for Mark Twain to remind us what the daily news is telling us:
"It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly American criminal class except Congress."
---------------------------------------------
Well, considering the above, here's one more that should probably be my disclaimer for the day from playwright Oscar Wilde:
"What is a cynic? A man who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing."
