Two Quotes to Ponder
First, one that reminds us to be grateful for small gifts of grace, from our former Minnesota Senator and Presidential candidate, Eugene McCarthy

"The only thing that saves us from the bureaucracy is inefficiency. An efficient bureaucracy is the greatest threat to liberty."
Then, as we watch the world in its insanity of violence and hatred, we hear from George Aiken, a politician who served as governor of Vermont from 1937-1941 and then as a US Senator from 1941-1975:
"If we were to wake up some morning and find that everyone was the same race, creed and color, we would find some other cause for prejudice by noon."
