Waiting For the Sunset
Taking sunset pictures has always been one of those irresistible things I do when I get the chance. For some reason sunsets over water tend to be the most interesting. We were in Florida on vacation part of last week and, since we had the chance, we took it.

It was a wonderful evening. At the beach the local high school jazz ensemble was doing a concert. (A great serendipity to add to the sunset!) We sat and soon noticed that the crowds kept coming.

The ensemble stopped playing- took a break- with about 10 minutes left till sunset. The crowd stood or sat and watched westward. Very few spoke. It was a moment of awe.

Many of these people were locals and many come often to see this spectacular show. It happens every sunny day. It never misses. (It happens when it's cloudy, obviously. We just can't see it happening.)

One of the most common daily occurrences yet one of the most awe-inspiring. God is in the everyday, common activities. The miracle is in the day-by-day turn of the world under the direction of one remarkable Creator.

And I was blessed and honored to be there for another one.
