Some Ponderings

Cuba can play baseball in the World Baseball Classic. The US government allowed a second request to be granted since any money the Cuban team made from the trip will not go back to Cuba but will be donated to Hurricane Katrina relief. Personally, as a baseball fan, this is great news. Someday Castro will no longer be in power and we will have to figure out a way to deal with Cuba in a healthy, helpful way. Perhaps this can help set that stage.

Richard at Connexions has discovered a list of Twenty Essential Paintings for theologians at Faith and Theology. It's a good list that spans the centuries from the late 13th century through Dali in the mid-20th. Makes you wonder what's happening now that will be considered essential and important art in another 50 - 100 years.

Liberation Theologian Leonardo Boff is still around. Amen. Here's a link to The Witness magazine and an article he wrote earlier this month. I also love the title: It is Dark, But I Sing!

This is good to know.
