Walk the Line-
Wow! It's Worth Seeing!

Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon/
Johnny Cash and June Carter (Cash).

Even more amazing than Jamie Fox as Ray Charles last year. I sat entranced by their performances- acting and singing. No lip-synching here. This was the real, raw thing. The chemistry between the two. The use of Cash's music. The camera work as they sing "It Ain't Me, Babe" and "Jackson" or perform at Folsom Prison.

It is a story of love and music and redemption. Yes it is the same story as we saw in Ray. Maybe one of the things is to point out the similarities in music regardless of the music style. The shildhood trauma. The "sudden" rise to fame bringing with it all kinds of other issues. The seemingly ever present addiction. Redemption through love- the love of performing, the love of music, and in this case, the love of one very special woman.

As with Ray Charles, we know the story is only beginning at the end of the movie. We know the end of the story is as remarkable as what we see on the screen. We have been allowed a peek into a moment in history and music. We are honored and, as we leave, we are better for it.

Don't miss it.
