Doh! Why Didn't I Think of That?
Well, even though it looked like a blatant attempt to get comments (which worked) I really did wonder about the site hits. I never thought about bloglines- which doesn't get sitemeter hits.

Wow. I feel better. And as one of you pointed out- 20 is better than none. You have to put these things in persepective. Back in my first congregation all those years ago, there were summer Sundays when the attendance was less than that. In fact there was one memorable Sunday evening Lenten service when there were five people- the organist, the student intern, a parishoner, my wife, and myself. Admittedly that tried one's willingness to continue, but it got better. On any average Sunday in my thirty years in the pulpit, there were probably no more than 100 people in worship that morning.

No, it is not about numbers. My apologies for being number-grubbing, greedy, and having my grandiose feelings feel snubbed. I should know better.

But keep those cards and letters coming. ;>)
