Just in Time
Just got home (5:30) from seeing the 5th of the 5 Academy Award nominated best pictures. Just under the wire, we managed to see all five for the first time before the awards ceremony.

So what's my favorite? Now that's the tough question. They are all remarkable acheivements of the art of movie-making and story-telling. They give us an often painful look into the realms of being human. They rip open wounds and help heal others. They raise questions that have no easy answers. They make us think and challenge us to look at things in much different ways.

That's no answer, I realize. I would have to go for a tie. The Aviator and Million Dollar Baby are of equal movie-making power. Remarkable stories, remarkable acting, remarkable in all aspects. I can't choose between them. The other three are only marginally behind. None would be a bad choice and all are worth seeing.

So now I will sit back and watch.
