At the Home of the Birth

Continuing with the Independence Day weekend, here are some of the pictures I took when we were in Philadelphia at Independence Hall.

Yes, I am a native of Pennsylvania, had been to Philly many times, but had never been to Independence Hall or seen the Liberty Bell. It was an awesome experience.

The chair in the center of the top picture is the one that Ben Franklin looked at and said that the sun is a rising sun. Here's a closer view of it.



The Liberty Bell is in its own building across the street. The people walk by, stand in a silent awe, snap pictures and try to absorb a bit of the national story it represents. It is a moving place!

And in light of the Supreme Court decision last week, this Pennsylvania Historical Sign across the street from Independence Hall is all the more prophetic.
