Still Upset?

Hillary did a fine job last night of moving off stage for this year. All the media were talking on and on about her supporters being upset or anyone of a number of other words. One of the problems was that Hillary was seen as the winner before the race even started. (Note to Barack's supporters: Don't assume victory until the last hanging chad is counted.) This set up all kinds of expectations and visions that forget about the nature of American politics. It ignores the fact that others may come along and challenge the front-runner. And that often the up-start challenger can win.

I for one wish that these two would not have had to square off and end up in the First Woman -vs- the First African-American contest. No matter which one lost, their supporters would have felt much like Hillary's have felt- denied the nomination. Unfortunately when that denial happens within the Party it can get kind of dicey.

I hope it is over. I hope that good Democratic voters who supported Hillary will support Barack in November. It will only go to prove that the American system does work.
