So What's New?
Actually, looking at the news headlines- Not Much.

We have

  • The Olympics and an anti-doping raid (where they found 100 syringes)that now has the former Austrian ski coach in a psych ward
  • The Olympics where Bode Miller is now 0 - 4
  • The Olympics where the American women's hockey team settled for a bronze
  • The Olympics where the Americans won the first Ice Dance Medal in 30 years
  • The Olympics where....
Are you bored yet? Me, too. I have not watched much of the Olympics. A bit here, a bit there. But it just hasn't had the pizazz of some years. Maybe it's an overkill with NBC or something. Maybe I miss good, old Jim McKay. And maybe it has always been this boring and I just never noticed.

Want more HYPE? How about all those TV people gathered at a convenience store in Nebraska where the BIG Powerball ticket was sold? Now we're talking excitement. The winner? Well, as of right now, he or she is still in hiding - or in ICU recovering from the heart attack they had when they realized they had won.

But one headline that does sound like a good idea- I'm sorry to say- even to this old pacifist. Osama bin Laden vows never to be captured alive.

You know, I don't think that was our plan anyway.
