Shadow, Shmadow-- What Winter?
February 2. Groundhog Day.

Did he see his shadow? Was it cloudy? Will we have six more weeks of winter?

How can we have six MORE weeks of winter here in Minnesota (yes, Minnesota)? We haven't HAD winter yet. We have just had the warmest January on record. How warm?

The average high temperature at my fairly average front-door was +36F. That's above freezing! And about 12 degrees above normal. But it didn't stop there.

The average low at the same fairly average front-door was +23F. Which is 21 degrees above normal and only 1 degree below the average HIGH!

But, hey, I'm not worried. There's a groundhog somewhere that saw his shadow which means six more weeks of winter. Somewhere.

Here, they tell me that this weekend the temps are supposed to drop to almost average. I can hardly wait.
